Which countries does the Europe eSIM cover?

When does my plan start?
The validity starts the first time you connect to a covered network in Europe, not when you buy it. You can install the eSIM at home and keep it ready until you land.
How do I install it?
After payment you receive a QR code by email. Open Settings → Mobile Data (or Connections → SIM Manager) → Add eSIM, scan the code, and follow the prompts. Installation takes about two minutes on Wi-Fi.
Can I keep my number and WhatsApp?
Yes. Keep your usual SIM active for calls and texts, and select Vela as the line for mobile data. Your WhatsApp number stays the same while you use data from Vela.
Does it support hotspot and 5G?
Yes. Hotspot is included at no extra cost. You get 5G wherever the local network supports it and your phone is 5G-capable; otherwise it falls back to 4G.
Will it work on my phone?
Most unlocked phones from 2018 onwards support eSIM, including iPhone XS and newer, most Galaxy S20+ models and Pixel 3 and newer. Use our compatibility checker, or contact support before buying.
What is your refund policy?
If your eSIM has not been activated and does not work on a compatible, unlocked phone, contact us within 30 days and we will troubleshoot or refund it. Once a data plan has been activated, it is generally non-refundable. See the refund policy for details.
Do I get a local phone number?
The Europe plan is a data-only eSIM, so it does not include a local phone number. You can keep using WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal and calls through your usual SIM.
What does “unlimited” mean?
Unlimited plans have no monthly data cap, but a fair-use policy applies. If usage is extreme, automated or abusive, speed may be reduced. Hotspot is included; normal travel use is not affected.
